Min Gao, a painter from China, received his B.F.A. degree in Oil Painting with minors in Design and Traditional Chinese Painting. He also received his M.F.A degree in Oil Painting along with minors in History of Western Arts and Theory of Chinese Painting. He was an Associate Professor and Director of the Division of Western Arts in the Department of Fine Arts at Southwest-China University (Chongqing, China). He is a member of the China Artist Association.

His paintings have been included in international exhibitions in Hong Kong, Japan and the U.S. For over a decade, his works have been included in numerous provincial and city exhibitions. Gao has received many awards and honors, including several for “Excellent Work Prize” and University Grants-In-Aid for Special Research. Publications included Red Candles, A Collection of Chinese Oil Painting (People’s Fine Arts Publishing House), A Collection of Chinese Oil Painting (as published in Japan), and Series of Contemporary Arts in China-Modern Oil Painting in the Classical Style (Lijang Publishing House).  His book, Color (Southwest-China University Publishing House), is an instructional textbook intended for college-level color classes. Currently in its 13th edition, it has sold over 100,000 copies.
  
As a visiting professor, Gao has given speeches and taught art to the students at St. Benedict College in MN, as well as St. John’s University, MN. He has also visited University of Colorado at Boulder.

Gao currently resides with his family in New York City.
